Guylian is a small, specialty artisan chocolate companyfrom St. Niklaas Belgium started 50 years ago by the founders, Guy & Lilian (Guylian is a blending of their names). Each carefully crafted shell is a blend of delicious white, milk or dark chocolate made from the finest West African cacao beans and filled with the delicious Guylian roasted hazelnut praline. Today, as then, the praline truffle center is made from the finest Mediterranean hazelnuts gently roasted and caramelized in small-batch copper kettles under the expertise of Belgian chocolatiers. All Guylian chocolate is made with 100% cocoa butter, no vegetable fats and all praline filling is made from hazelnuts hand selected from high-quality Mediterranean growers.
Scrambled, Hard-Boiled, or Fried?
In 2005, Guylian set a record in its home city of Sint Niklaas, Belgium when 26 of its master chocolatiers worked for eight days to create the world's largest ever chocolate egg. At approximately 29 feet high, 22 feet wide and weighing 4,300 pounds the egg is big, but could benefit from the company of chocolate bacon and toast.
