The Black Cow Is Back ... and It's Chewier Than Ever Before!
After a 25-year hiatus, Black Cow is back! The American classic is made with real chocolate and caramel and is now even richer and chewier. Is that even possible? Yes! Black Cow is also available in two new formats: a 1.5-ounce bar and bite-sized pieces—perfect for snacking!
Black Cow is the sister candy to Slo Poke, the slow-eating vanilla-caramel treat. Both brands were created by the Chicago-based Holloway Candy Company in the mid-1920s. The two brands changed hands multiple times, and, in 1986, Black Cow production was officially discontinued under the ownership of Pittsburgh-based D.L. Clark.
A quarter of a century later, Classic Caramel, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Warrell Corporation, started up production again in its state-of-the-art facility in York, Pa. The caramel and taffy manufacturer is now producing an even firmer, richer chocolate-caramel Black Cow. Life is good.
